What have you learned from a neighbouring farm? Experiences and difficulties from the field

New practices usually spread when farmers see them in a neighbour's field, not through brochures. This thread is for farmers to share what they have learned from each other.

Where did you first see a practice you later tried? How did you decide to try it, and did you start on a small plot? What worked, and what did not go as expected? Do you keep records, and if so, what have they given you?

Write about the difficulties as well as the successes: one farmer's experience can be another farmer's starting point. Please share only your own experience and information you know first-hand; posts may be quoted, with attribution, in project materials.
