About
The project
The project "Precision Farming for a Greener Tomorrow: Advocating for Sustainable Agriculture" (Daha Yeşil Yarınlar için Hassas Tarım: Sürdürülebilir Tarım Savunuculuğu) is funded by the European Union. Its reference number is IPAIII/2023/451-911 and it runs from 26.12.2023 to 26.12.2026. It is coordinated by the International Confederation of Agriculture and Food (TARIMKON), with the Green Development Association (Yeşil Kalkınma Derneği, YKD) and the VERDE Research Center in Kozani, Greece, as partners. The project is carried out in Ankara, Adana, İzmir, Sakarya and Şanlıurfa.
Its overall objective is to increase the capacity of civil society organisations to support sustainable agriculture in the context of the European Green Deal. Its specific objective is to help civil society organisations and farmers take an active part in sustainable and precision farming and in the related policy decisions.
International Sustainable Farming Network (ISFN)
ISFN is a network for cooperation between civil society organisations, businesses and chambers of agriculture in Türkiye and Greece in line with the goals of the European Green Deal (Activity 4). It is designed as a platform for sharing ideas, strategies and good practice in sustainable and precision farming. The network is set up to meet online every two months, to bring together at least 30 civil society organisations from the five provinces, and to continue after the project as an operational branch of TARIMKON. ISFN works in Turkish and English.
Virtual community
This platform is the online home of the project's virtual community (Activity 5). Besides the project partners, the community is intended to include 25 target civil society organisations, other CSOs and agri-food businesses. Farmers, civil society organisations and young people use it to share information and experience through online meetings, forums, chat rooms, blogs and question-and-answer threads. The platform is tailored to the work of ISFN, the Anatolian Farmers' Council, the Precision Farming Cooperative and young people's advocacy. The project also foresees a mobile app that stakeholders can easily download to reach information and the project's digital tools.
Digital Advocacy Hub
"The Future Is in Farming: Digital Advocacy Hub" (Activity 18) is an online hub for young farmers and young activists. With support from the project partners, young people share their views, messages and strategies here and start discussions. The hub hosts blogs and forums, key advocacy documents, digital stories and links, along with news of ongoing campaigns and local work on sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. The one-minute advocacy video, five video streams with experts and activists and five podcasts that young people will produce with the project team will also be published here. The hub will keep running after the project ends and will remain accessible from the project website.
